WHEN ARE OUR SERVICES?
We have two Sunday morning services. The first begins at 9:00am and usually concludes at 10:00 am. The second service starts at 10h30 and concludes at 11h30. Our Sunday morning services are comprised of worshiping God through congregational singing,
and the reading and preaching of the Bible.
WHAT WILL THE PREACHING BE LIKE?
Sometimes we preach through books of the Bible. Sometimes we look for bigger themes in the Bible that are important for our understanding of God’s Word as a whole. Other times we will look at topics like marriage, parenting, pain, joy, or seasons of life. No matter the format of preaching everything will include the direct teaching and application of Scripture. That is, how we should read the Bible and how we should live everyday because of the Good News about what Jesus has done on our behalf.
WILL MY CHILDREN HAVE A PLACE TO GO OR WILL THEY STAY WITH ME?
We offer Sunday school for children aged 5 tot 13 during the morning service. This is a time for children to understand the truths of Scripture at their appropriate age level. Younger children can stay in church with their parents or can occupy themselves in a the Sunday school class under the care of the Sunday school teacher. At the moment we do not have enough children in this age category to warrant a creche.
WILL I HAVE TO GIVE MONEY?
Individuals and families that are committed to making SBG their home do give money as one of the many ways they worship. However, as a visitor we instead ask that you come several times then try to find ways you can worship and serve before committing to financial giving.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
On Sunday morning you’ll find people dressed in a range from blue jeans to business casual. You should wear whatever you are most comfortable in. Maybe not your pajamas but nearly anything else. If you worship and listen best in a suit and tie or fancy skirt then that is what you should wear. To make it more simple I would say you are already in your “Church Clothes”.
DO YOU HAVE A BIBLE STUDY I CAN JOIN?
For Wednesday Evening Bible Study we meet at 7:00 pm and conclude by 8:00 pm. This is when the core of our church grows, serves, and fellowships. We meet at the church. It’s a very practical and relationship building time as people talk about living out their life for the purpose of glorifying God. Please contact us for more information regarding Bible Studies.
WHERE SHOULD I GO?
SBG is located at the corner of Simmentaler Street and Angus Street, Tafelzicht, Malmesbury. Our greeters will be able to help you with all the information you need about our service, children’s classes, etc.
